Nicole

Hey,

My name is Nicole Engada Manumbas. Born and raised in the hot islands of the Philippines, but grew up in the harsh winters of Canada. I’m a third year Studio Arts major in the Bachelor of Arts. I was not born an artist, nor was I raised as one. It was neither an option or even a thought for a young Filipina girl being raised by a single mother. It was not until I had the privilege to take art classes in high school that I truly understood why people create art. When the time came to decide our pathway in life, I could only think of one thing that was not going to make me completely miserable. It was art. Drawing, painting, photography, I enjoyed it all and I wished to experience more. Now I’m here, hoping for this chapter of my life in this program to give me the exposure I need to love all that the world has to offer.
