Make a Kilometre
1 Kilometre, 100 Metres, 10 Stops, 10 Squirrel Drawings!
We often see squirrels around campus, but this time I wanted to slow down and really notice them. I decided to walk exactly one kilometre, stopping every 100 metres to draw the nearest squirrel. By the end, I had ten different sketches, each capturing a different distance, colour, and pose. The walk took me about 17 minutes, and the squirrels themselves became my measuring tool. Through this process, I not only practiced drawing these critters but also learned to pay attention to my surroundings and appreciate the life that shares our space.
