A Kilometre in Music- Alaina Coles
I chose to create this project in a digital format because I knew that, given the short timeframe, it would be the easiest for me to complete. From the moment I read the project description, I decided I wanted to incorporate something related to music. The project consists of a video showing my route to work from my house, accompanied by a mash-up of my top three songs to listen to while at work.
Since I couldn’t travel back to my hometown before the deadline, I bribed my sister to walk the path and use an app to track her route and record it so I could play it back later. I used a DJ website to create a mash-up of the songs, ensuring they flowed together seamlessly. To avoid paying for downloads, I played the audio from my laptop while recording it on my phone.
Finally, I used a video editing app to combine the route video with the sound recording. I picture the final presentation being projected on a wall with the audio played through speakers. Additionally, I might include a diorama of my town and the route to enhance the overall experience.
