Concept Portrait Proposal
For this project, I chose to represent my dad, who often sends me random fun facts. This shared interest in random facts is a trait we both possess and is something I strongly associate with him. I plan to record and keep track of the facts he sends me. Although I haven’t fully figured out how to display them yet, I’m considering using a “trading card” format to symbolize the exchange of knowledge between my dad and me.
I was inspired by Adrian Piper’s piece, My Calling (Card). I thought it was interesting how she uses calling cards to start difficult conversations and share information. I connected with this because my dad does something similar with facts. I think using a similar card format could be an effective way to show the exchange of knowledge and make for a good conversation starter.
