post high school graduation when i didn’t know what i would do with myself, i started skating more. i met a guy named nick and we became close friends. me and him would go very deep in conversation about the universe and life itself. this movie reminded me of those conversations, and serves to me as a memory of our friendship. he’s since moved to costa rica and we had a falling out.

encourages me to try harder everyday. told me i can be whoever i decide to build up and put effort into becoming. i feel a lot like rocky because i’m now working to better myself, and not be the person i was.

i had just cut off the last of my friends from an old version of myself i didn’t like anymore. and i didn’t want to keep living like they did, so i changed something and got away. then this movie was in theatres so i went to see it alone. i didn’t know going in that it would be about sudden loss of friendship, and all around include themes of loneliness. i was very much feeling alone and thought i’d never make friends again. i also didn’t want to go back to anyone from my past because that would mean allowing the old version i hated to come back.

i fear i can’t explain this one too much without coming across as insane. i just find the love he didn’t think he would find to be so beautiful. and i relate a lot to pat ( bradley cooper ) in that i have been delusional, but also something about his sadness that he feels. it depicts very accurately how i feel in my life.
