it seems Katja Heitmann worked to keep alive movements and quirks in individuals so as not to lose them to time. to perpetuate a persons unqiue personality in which individualizes each movement everyone makes, and potentially have it carried down to other people. motus mori, the title of the work, meaning movement that is dying out. though the movements were so shortly observed, they still manage to take influence in how you act from that point on. such short instances of meeting/interacting with another human being can still have such an impact, you carry with you pieces of everyone you’ve ever met, no matter how small their role was.

my best friend i’ve noticed will start humming when their are moments of quiet or calm. i haven’t met anyone else who does it so i find it a unique trait to them.

my mother who had to go bald because of chemo in 2024 started scrunching up her hair to bring out her new found curls. prior to the haircut her hair was only wavy, but as it started to grow back again it was very tightly curled so she made a nice effort to maintain that.

for some reason in myself i noticed that i start to rock back and forth in moments where i’m zoned out or doing nothing. i don’t know when it started, or if i’ve always done it, but i’ll often not realize until i come back into reality than can feel my body rocking a little.
