This is my 1km project and for this project we were asked to make a kilometre and bring it to class. We were given 100% freedom and could create this kilometre in any way we wanted as long as we had proof of how our project represents a kilometre. I decided to represent this kilometre by folding 3,030 paper stars. The reason I chose folding paper stars to represent my 1km is because of a discussion we had on the first day of class. This discussion was about things in our lives that have no ends and only means. These stars represent this because making these stars is an activity that for years I have kept doing and coming back to even though I have no real purpose for them in the end.

During the beginning stages of this project I was pretty set on my idea and the only problem I had was to actually do it. My first thought was to take one shot and fold all of the stars in one take. As I had started to film this I figured out very quickly that it takes a LONGGGGG time to make each star. I then had the idea of filming small shots just with my finished pile of stars at the places I was making them(which was pretty much everywhere).
