Audio Assignment – MEOWZERS
For my audio assignment I decided to record my four (+1) cats. They are incredibly food motivated and so I knew that I could get a good variety of different meows and purrs. At first I was not too sure where the audio was going but then I eventually came up with a good sound.
The audio begins with just a few meowing sounds and then it gradually builds with multiple layers. The audio intensifies with their want for food. After the cats were basically yelling at me, I poured out their food and the cats were audibly content and happy. I finished off my audio with a longer clip of purring and slurping up the wet cat food, and then one final meow. My idea behind the final meow was to make it seem like the cycle just continues (it very much does in real life).
I think that I did really well with panning and the spatial awareness of my audio. You can clearly tell which cats were further and which ones were closer. I also like the fact that it is very personal to each cat because they very much have their own voices.
