MOCA Field Trip

Virus (2010-2039)
I found this artwork so intriguing; the thought of planning a project that spans almost 30 years was so interesting to me. I especially enjoyed reading about the past and future ones that predated texts. I found that its connection to the past and future was a valuable reflection for what I am for in my life. Since art therapy is fairly new in the realm of therapy, its future and past are intertwined and continuous, similar to the spiral that is created from bindis.

An Absence of Assignable Cause (2007)
The life-size sculpture of the art was captivating to look at. As mentioned previously, I am interested in art and health; this work combines both of them. The title of the piece was my only context for what the meaning is, which allowed me to dive deeper and do my own research. The fact that this was made because there were only incomplete sketches of a whale’s heart makes me reflect on the gaps that are present in our own knowledge and how we can overcome them.
