One Feat, Three Ways

This project gave me a wonderful opportunity to do videography, which I didn’t know if I would like or not, and it also presented some issues. Our first shoot is definitely still my favourite, as the experience from it was amazing and we had lots of variety. While our second shoot does look better, I am upset about having that footage that we can’t use, as it felt more in line with the original concept and better executed, as we were able to split people into separate rooms so that they stayed total strangers. Our feat was standing on one leg. I personally have trouble balancing due to an absurd amount of broken bones, but I know that many people are really good at balancing. We wanted to see just how far we could push it and for how long. We also added the eye contact element as we were curious about what changes it would make to someone’s ability to concentrate and balance when they have to look a stranger or a friend in the eyes for the entire time. Overall, the process was great, and while we couldn’t use our original take, I admire the fact that we were able to move forward with the reshoot and still bring our concept to life, as it taught us some valuable skills.
