“Caution”
Artist David Piombini
Caution is a audio piece about distracted drivers & pedestrians. Distraction has been on the rise ever since smartphones became more well smart. As our lives get busier we are forced to do things on time frames that make us take more unnecessary risks. Distracted drivers have killed many pedestrians as well as many pedestrians have sacrificed themselves due to not paying attention on roadways ie starring at there phone while walking. It is important to bring to attention both sides as I believe both sides are risking there lives over being preventable accidents . It may seem like I am avoiding taking a side but both sides I believe need to have more awareness and caution to maximize safety. As pedestrians we must take our own lives more seriously even if we are correctly walking on a walk signal at a crosswalk that will not stop someone who is either driving distracted or sight is compromised due to weather conditions. In order to ensure the best outcome I am advocating for both pedestrians and drivers alike to be aware and stay off your phone or any device that may impair your ability to hear, or see so one can ensure you can properly react to unpredictable circumstances. This audio is highlighting an experience in which the POV of a runner or walker in poor weather conditions is hit by a car. This audio is to draw attention to ones lack of attention as mentioned above. This is a PSA format audio that sends the message of caution to drivers and pedestrians until the government is able to properly insure the safety of pedestrians. Until then there must be no distraction inhibiting ones ability to act on the unpredictability of drivers and pedestrians.
This audio content features content that may disturb some viewers, viewer discretion is advised.
Easter eggs you may have missed
Crow caws: This was put in there as a crows can be a symbol of death. Even the three caws of the crows was on purpose as three can refer to the trinity in a way also referencing to death by referring to heaven.
The time: The time indicates 1:13 which is significant because 13 can refer to bad luck which in the audio one could say plays out.
Process work

I was going to settle on the drunk driving psa but I thought it was a little to cliche so I went with a more overall awareness video or distraction psa.

Summary of Process
The process was I first wrote down some ideas. My intial idea when I started was going to do a robbery but I realized it may be a little to harsh, so I went with the storm idea after thinking on the ideas for a few days. I was going to go with a storm and a tree falling and hitting the person to show that life can end at any moment and to be happy with what you got, but I pivoted again to a more PSA format. I gathered some sounds that I already had on my phone as I mentioned before I thought about this assignment for a while (this was that I recorded random sounds in nature that I thought might be helpful when the project came by). I recorded some rain sounds in September and found the perfect use for them. the walking was recorded when I went for my morning run, the rain hitting my coat was recorded when it was raining, the rolling on the car sound was recorded by rolling my hand on a car and of course my voice is my voice. There was tons of editing to each the audio clips mostly to make them louder and a phaser was added to get that dream like effect in the end.
